Description
Delightful mini buns made with milk and sugar, soft and fluffy – perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon yeast
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast: Warm the milk until it’s just warm to the touch, add the yeast and one tablespoon of sugar, and let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Mix the ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and butter. Pour in the yeast mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough: On a floured surface, knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour until doubled in size.
- Prepping to shape: After rising, punch down the dough, divide into about 12 pieces.
- Forming the buns: Roll each piece into a ball and place on a parchment-lined steaming basket, leaving space between them.
- Second rise: Cover the buns with a towel and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Steaming: Bring water to a simmer and steam the buns for around 12-15 minutes until fluffy and cooked.
Notes
