Description
Tangy and sweet lemon brownies that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Combine the melted butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl. Stir until fully combined and smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, making sure to mix well after each addition. Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the top is set. Test for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan, then dust with powdered sugar before cutting them into squares.
Notes
For best flavor, use fresh lemons. Don’t overmix the batter to keep brownies tender.
