- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan; heat until the sugar dissolves to create a simple syrup.
- Remove from heat and let the syrup cool.
- Puree the cherries with the cooled sugar syrup and lemon juice in a blender until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, or pour into a shallow dish and freeze, mixing every 30 minutes until smooth.
- Transfer the sorbet to a container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Serve in bowls, on cones, or as a float. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer.
