Description

Chill out this summer with a bowl of delightful homemade cherry sorbet, a refreshing treat made with fresh cherries and minimal ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan; heat until the sugar dissolves to create a simple syrup.
  2. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool.
  3. Puree the cherries with the cooled sugar syrup and lemon juice in a blender until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, or pour into a shallow dish and freeze, mixing every 30 minutes until smooth.
  5. Transfer the sorbet to a container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Serve in bowls, on cones, or as a float. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer.
