- 0.5 cups sour cream
- 16 ounces strawberries, sliced (about 2 cups)
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line it with parchment paper to ensure easy removal.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, alternating with sour cream, starting and ending with flour.
- Fold in the sliced strawberries gently, being careful not to crush them.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and sprinkle the remaining granulated sugar on top.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cake for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
