- 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt + more for sprinkling
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and sea salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
- Pour the cookie dough into a greased cast iron skillet or baking pan.
- Sprinkle a little extra sea salt on top if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
