Description

A decadent chocolate chip skillet cookie with a warm, gooey center and a crispy edge, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt + more for sprinkling
  • 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and sea salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
  7. Pour the cookie dough into a greased cast iron skillet or baking pan.
  8. Sprinkle a little extra sea salt on top if desired.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
  10. Let it cool slightly before serving.
