Description

A delightful dessert featuring sweet-tart cherries and blueberries in a charming star-shaped crust, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 2 cups cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cherries, blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  4. Pour the fruit filling into the crust.
  5. Use extra pie crust to cut out star shapes and place them on top of the filling.
  6. Brush the top with the egg wash (mix egg with milk).
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
  8. Let cool before serving.
