Description

Brighten up your mornings with these fluffy pancakes infused with the unique flavors of blood orange.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Zest of 1 blood orange
  • Juice of 1 blood orange

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Mix the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, blood orange zest, and blood orange juice in another bowl.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
  6. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Serve warm with syrup and additional slices of blood orange if desired.
