Ingredients

- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- Zest of 1 blood orange
- Juice of 1 blood orange
Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Mix the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, blood orange zest, and blood orange juice in another bowl.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Pour 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Serve warm with syrup and additional slices of blood orange if desired.
