Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Combine the mashed bananas and melted butter in a mixing bowl. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  3. Blend in the sugar, followed by the beaten egg and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. Sprinkle in the baking soda and salt, and stir to incorporate.
  5. Fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips, creating an even distribution throughout the batter.
  7. Drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden and the centers are set.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
