Description

A luxurious dessert featuring layers of dark, milk, and white chocolate mousse for the ultimate chocolate experience.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
  • 6 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
  • 6 ounces white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream, chilled
  • 4 large eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth. Set aside to cool. Repeat for milk and white chocolate.
  2. In a medium bowl, whip 1/2 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Divide into three portions and set aside.
  3. Whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale. Stir in melted dark chocolate and fold in one portion of whipped cream.
  4. Repeat with milk chocolate and the second portion of whipped cream.
  5. Mix melted white chocolate with the last portion of whipped cream and fold gently.
  6. Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Fold into each chocolate mixture in three stages.
  7. Layer the chocolate mousses in a cake pan or cups. Chill for at least 4 hours.
  8. Serve chilled, garnished with chocolate shavings or whipped cream.

Notes

For best results, chill the cake overnight. Use quality chocolate for enhanced flavor.
