- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- Green food coloring
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and a few drops of green food coloring until well combined.
- Transfer the meringue mixture to a piping bag and pipe tree shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until dry and crisp, then turn off the oven and cool them inside.
- Once cooled, decorate with sprinkles and enjoy!
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature. They can last for a week, but consume them sooner if you’re in a humid area.
