Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon; whisk to blend.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter until smooth and slightly frothy.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot, about 2-3 inches deep, until ready.
- Drop small balls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- While frying, mix together the coating sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Remove churro bites from oil, drain on paper towels, and toss in the cinnamon sugar mix while warm.
- Serve warm and enjoy with friends and family.
Notes
For an extra touch, consider adding a drizzle of warm chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping. Best enjoyed fresh out of the fryer!
