Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup white miso paste
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and miso paste until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips and sesame seeds.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Allow cookies to cool completely before storing them. They can be frozen for up to three months.
