A comforting dessert featuring a buttery crumble topping, sweet and tart apples, and rich salted caramel, perfect for any occasion.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cups peeled and sliced apples
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Slowly stir in the melted butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Take about two-thirds of this mixture and press it firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a crust.
- In another bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and caramel sauce. Pour this delicious apple mixture over your crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the apple layer.
- If you like, sprinkle chopped nuts and a pinch of sea salt on top for an extra crunch.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping turns golden and the apples are tender.
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting them into squares.
Notes
For an extra treat, serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
