A stunning and delicious Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese frosting, perfect for any celebration.

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 8 ounces cream cheese (for filling)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (for frosting)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
- In another bowl, combine the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and dollop it on top of the batter in the pan.
- Pour the remaining batter over the cream cheese filling and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before inverting it onto a serving plate.
- For the frosting, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla until smooth and spread over the cooled cake.
Notes
Store the cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. It can also be frozen before frosting.
