Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and whole milk. Stir the mixture gently until everything is well combined.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Cook while stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes without stirring.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the unsalted butter and vanilla extract until fully combined and smooth.
- If using, fold in the chopped nuts for extra texture and flavor.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 8-inch square pan, spreading it evenly. Allow the fudge to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
Use a candy thermometer for precision to ensure the fudge reaches around 235°F for perfect texture.
