Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tbsp pectin (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the mixed berries under cold water, remove stems, and chop strawberries.
- Combine the berries with the granulated sugar and lemon juice in a large pot; let sit for 10 minutes.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat and stir occasionally until it reaches a gentle boil.
- If using pectin, add it according to package instructions after reaching a boil.
- Test the jam’s readiness by dropping a spoonful on a cold plate; it should hold its shape.
- Pour the hot jam into sterilized jars and allow to cool before sealing.
Notes
For the best flavor, use fresh berries and avoid overripened fruit. Allow the jam to cool completely before sealing jars to prevent moisture problems.
