Description

Indulge in these chewy, fudgy Malted Milk Chocolate Brownies with a rich chocolate frosting and crunchy malted milk eggs.


Ingredients

  • 1.85 oz chocolate malted milk powder (1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 oz malted milk eggs (1 cup), plus more for decorating
  • 3 oz chocolate chunks (1/2 cup)
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate (1 cup), finely chopped (for frosting)
  • 16 oz powdered sugar (4 cups)
  • 8 oz unsalted butter (2 sticks), room temperature
  • 1.87 oz chocolate malted milk powder (1/2 cup, for frosting)
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 1/4 tsp salt (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with foil and spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Melt the chopped semi-sweet and unsweetened chocolate along with the cubed butter over low heat, stirring continuously until smooth.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined. Gradually add the eggs, whisk one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until you have a thick batter.
  4. Fold in the flour, malted milk powder, and salt. Gently stir in the malted milk eggs and chocolate chunks.
  5. Spread the batter in the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
  7. For the frosting, melt the semi-sweet chocolate and allow it to cool. Beat the butter, powdered sugar, malt powder, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until creamy.
  8. Mix the melted chocolate into the frosting and spread it over the brownies. Decorate with additional malted milk eggs.

Notes

Store in an airtight container. These brownies can be kept at room temperature for up to four days or refrigerated for up to a week.
