Description

Delightful heart-shaped cookies perfect for expressing love on Valentine’s Day.


Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Red and pink icing for decoration
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutters

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  7. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thick and cut out heart shapes.
  8. Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  9. Let cookies cool on a wire rack.
  10. Decorate with red and pink icing; allow icing to set before serving.
