Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thick and cut out heart shapes.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Let cookies cool on a wire rack.
- Decorate with red and pink icing; allow icing to set before serving.
