Description

Delicious homemade Tagalong cookies, featuring rich chocolate, creamy peanut butter, and a shiny chocolate coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In one bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the dough comes together.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and flatten them into disks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are firm. Let cool completely.
  7. Mix the creamy peanut butter with powdered sugar until smooth, then spread on top of each cooled cookie.
  8. Melt the chocolate chips with vegetable oil in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
  9. Dip each cookie into the melted chocolate, covering the peanut butter layer completely. Allow excess to drip off.
  10. Let the cookies sit until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

Experiment with different nut butters or add sea salt on top of the melted chocolate for a unique touch.
