Description

Enjoy warm, fluffy cinnamon rolls with a sweet cream cheese icing, perfect for breakfast or brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast (or one packet)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk (warm)
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and warm milk. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients while mixing. Add the melted butter and blend until smooth.
  2. Gradually add in the remaining flour until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it’s soft and elastic.
  3. Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together.
  5. Once your dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle on your cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Starting at one end, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice it into 12 even pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  7. Cover the sliced rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, maple syrup, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Once the rolls are cool, drizzle the icing over the top and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftover rolls in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
