Description
Enjoy warm, fluffy cinnamon rolls with a sweet cream cheese icing, perfect for breakfast or brunch gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast (or one packet)
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk (warm)
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and warm milk. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients while mixing. Add the melted butter and blend until smooth.
- Gradually add in the remaining flour until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it’s soft and elastic.
- Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together.
- Once your dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle on your cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Starting at one end, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice it into 12 even pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the sliced rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, maple syrup, and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Once the rolls are cool, drizzle the icing over the top and enjoy!
