Description

Delicious homemade churro bites filled with rich Nutella, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • Nutella (for filling)
  • Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, unsalted butter, sugar, and salt. Bring this mixture to a vigorous boil.
  2. Once boiling, add flour all at once and stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the dough cool slightly for a few minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, mixing until the dough is smooth. Finally, stir in the vanilla.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Transfer the dough into a piping bag and pipe small bites into the hot oil, frying until golden brown (about 2-3 minutes).
  7. Mix the 1/2 cup sugar and ground cinnamon; roll the churro bites in this mixture while warm.
  8. Fill each churro bite with Nutella using a piping bag.
  9. Serve warm, optionally with extra Nutella for dipping.

Notes

For best results, fry in batches and avoid overcrowding the pot.
