- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups apples, peeled and diced
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for drizzle)
- 1 tablespoon milk (for drizzle)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, and stir in the milk.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt, then gradually add this to the creamed mixture.
- Fold in the diced apples.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, oats, and nuts, then sprinkle on top of the batter.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk for the drizzle.
- Let cool slightly before drizzling with icing.
