Description

A warm, comforting Apple Crumb Cake filled with juicy apples and topped with a crunchy crumb layer, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for drizzle)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, and stir in the milk.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt, then gradually add this to the creamed mixture.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, oats, and nuts, then sprinkle on top of the batter.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Mix powdered sugar and milk for the drizzle.
  10. Let cool slightly before drizzling with icing.

Notes

Serve warm with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, or caramel sauce.
