Description

Delightful heart-shaped cookies filled with sweet strawberry jam, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream together unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  7. Cut out heart shapes with a cookie cutter, cutting out half with a smaller heart shape in the center.
  8. Spread about 1 teaspoon of strawberry jam on each solid heart cookie.
  9. Top with a cut-out heart and gently press the edges to seal.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  11. Allow to cool on the sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
