Instructions
- Heat the oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry in batches for about 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Remove the donuts with a slotted spoon and let them drain on a paper towel or wire rack.
- While warm, dust with powdered sugar or roll in a cinnamon sugar mix and serve immediately.
Notes
For a healthier option, you can make these donuts in an air fryer at 375°F for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
