Description

Delightful homemade fizzing candy that’s fun to make and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon citric acid
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • Flavoring (like fruit extracts or essential oils)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by gathering all ingredients and tools.
  2. In a saucepan, mix the granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Once the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), remove it from the heat and quickly add the citric acid and baking soda.
  5. Stir in your desired flavoring and food coloring until well combined.
  6. Pour the mixture into a silicone mold or onto parchment paper, spreading it evenly.
  7. Allow the candy to cool and set for about 30 minutes.
  8. Dust the pieces lightly with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
  9. Enjoy your fizzing candy right away or package it in airtight containers for later.

Notes

Store fizzing candy in an airtight container away from heat and moisture, and consume within a couple of weeks for optimal fizz.
