- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and spices—cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, combine the honey, brown sugar, and milk until well blended.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the orange zest and any nuts you choose to include.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm with a drizzle of icing, whipped cream, or fresh fruit. Storing: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
