Description
A natural and healthy caramel alternative made from dates, perfect for drizzling over desserts or using as a dip.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of Medjool dates, pitted and chopped
- 1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- A pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Prep the dates: If your dates are a bit hard, soak them in warm water for about 10 minutes to soften them. Drain and pat them dry.
- Blend the ingredients: In a blender, combine the soaked dates, almond milk, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
- Blend until smooth: Blend on high until everything is well combined and has a smooth consistency. If it’s too thick, add more milk, one tablespoon at a time.
- Taste and adjust: Taste the caramel and add more salt or a splash more vanilla for extra flavor if needed.
- Serve or store: You can use the caramel immediately or store it in the fridge for later.
Notes
Choose Medjool dates for the best texture. Don’t overblend to keep some texture in the caramel.
