Ingredients

- 1 Cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)
- 1 Cup powdered sugar
- ¼ Teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon maraschino cherry juice
- ¼ Teaspoon almond extract (or vanilla or cherry)
- 2 Cups all-purpose flour (plus more if needed)
- 1 Cup maraschino cherries (chopped)
- ¼ Cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 24 Hershey Kisses
Instructions
- Cream the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the cherry juice and extract, mix until blended.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until combined.
- Fold in the chopped cherries until well mixed.
- Form small balls of dough and roll them in granulated sugar.
- Chill dough balls in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 10 minutes.
- Press a Hershey Kiss into each warm cookie and cool on a rack.
