Description

A luscious, velvety caramel sauce made from dates and coconut milk, perfect for drizzling, dipping, or savoring by the spoonful.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 dates, pitted
  • ½ cup full-fat coconut milk (use the solid part on top), plus more as needed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla paste or extract
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dates: Add pitted dates to a small bowl and cover with boiling water. Let them soak for about 15 minutes.
  2. Blend It Up: Transfer soaked dates to a high-powered blender. Add coconut milk and blend until smooth, adjusting consistency with more coconut milk if needed.
  3. Add the Flavor: Pour the blend into a jar or bowl and stir in vanilla, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Cool and Store: Allow the caramel to cool before covering and refrigerating.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks; may be frozen for longer storage.
