Description

A smooth and creamy dessert that combines sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, and caramel for a velvety custard experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel)
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Caramel: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the granulated sugar and stir until it melts and turns a golden amber color. Pour into a round baking dish to coat the bottom and set aside to cool.
  2. Blend the Main Ingredients: In a blender, combine sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour into the Dish: Carefully pour the custard mixture over the hardened caramel.
  4. Bake the Flan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan filled with water and bake for 50-60 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center.
  5. Cool and Flip: Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. To serve, run a knife around the edge, place a plate on top, and flip to release the flan.

Notes

Garnish with fresh fruits or a drizzle of caramel for an extra treat.
