Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar until combined.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let cool in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack, cut into squares, and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
