Description
Chocolate Orange Delight is a layered dessert with a chocolate cookie base, creamy mousse, and glossy orange glaze. Easy to make, refreshing, and perfect for special occasions or everyday indulgence.
Ingredients
For the chocolate base:
1 cup crushed chocolate cookies or brownie crumbs
2 tbsp melted butter
For the mousse layer:
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup cream cheese or Greek yogurt
1/4 cup sugar or natural sweetener
1/2 cup melted dark chocolate
For the orange glaze:
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tbsp cornstarch
Garnish:
Fresh orange slices or zest
Instructions
1. Prepare the base: Combine cookie crumbs with melted butter, press into bottom of a springform pan, and chill.
2. Make the mousse: Whip cream to soft peaks. Blend cream cheese (or yogurt), sugar, and melted chocolate until smooth. Fold in whipped cream. Spread over base and refrigerate.
3. Cook the orange glaze: In a small saucepan, whisk orange juice, honey, and cornstarch over medium heat until thickened. Cool slightly, then pour over mousse.
4. Assemble and garnish: Once the glaze sets, top with fresh orange slices or zest.
Notes
- For a healthier version, swap cream cheese with Greek yogurt and use dark chocolate (70% cocoa).
- Make it no-bake with an oats + dates base.
- Add a pinch of chili powder to the chocolate for a bold twist.
- Chill the dessert at least 2 hours before serving for best texture.
