Ingredients
Scale
- 150 g all-purpose flour
- 50 g natural cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 115 g unsalted butter (softened)
- 100 g brown sugar
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 30 g granulated sugar
- 30 g sprinkles
- 30 g powdered sugar
- 24 Hershey’s kisses (unwrapped)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy, about 3 minutes. Add the brown sugar and mix until fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, beating until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix on low speed until just combined.
- Scoop the dough into your hands and roll into balls.
- Roll the balls in granulated sugar, sprinkles, or powdered sugar and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space in between.
- Bake for 7-8 minutes until puffy. Unwrap the Hershey’s kisses while baking.
- Press a Hershey’s kiss in the center of each cookie immediately after baking. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes if needed to prevent spreading during baking. Experiment with different toppings and flavors for variations.
