Description

A delightful combination of crunchy pretzels or nuts, sweet and tart apples, all smothered in rich chocolate and gooey caramel, making for a perfect fall treat.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz milk or dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 cup soft baking caramels (melted)
  • 1 medium green apple (chopped or thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup chopped gluten-free pretzels or nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
  • 1/4 cup melted chocolate for drizzle

Instructions

  1. Soak the apple pieces in a bowl of 1 cup water mixed with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice for 5-10 minutes to prevent browning.
  2. Melt the chocolate with the coconut oil using a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  3. Spread the melted chocolate onto a lined baking sheet into a 1/4 inch thick layer.
  4. Sprinkle crushed pretzels, diced apples, and drizzle with melted caramel and extra melted chocolate.
  5. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until set, or freeze for the last 20 minutes.
  6. Once set, break or cut into pieces for serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for fresh taste. Best consumed within 24 hours.
