Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Mix in the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well combined.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  6. If desired, fold in chopped walnuts.
  7. Drop cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet with enough space to spread.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool on a wire rack and prepare the cream cheese glaze by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies and enjoy!
