Description

A creamy and silky flan that captures the essence of your favorite bakery in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sugar (for caramel)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of sugar to make caramel and pour it into a round baking dish.
  3. In a blender, combine 6 large eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the blended mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
  5. Place the flan baking dish into a larger baking pan and fill it with hot water until halfway up the sides of the flan dish.
  6. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until set, checking with a knife.
  7. Let the flan cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
  8. To serve, run a knife around the edge, invert onto a plate, and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t rush the caramel process and make sure to check for doneness early.
