Description

A delightful twist on classic apple fritters, this bread combines sweet apples, cinnamon, and a soft, moist texture, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon for topping
  • Powdered sugar for glaze (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
  7. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon sugar.
  8. Swirl with a knife for a marbled effect.
  9. Bake for about 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool before serving. Optionally, drizzle with powdered sugar glaze for added sweetness.

Notes

Make sure your apples are diced evenly for consistent flavor throughout the bread. Don’t overmix the batter; stirring just until combined will keep the bread light and fluffy.
