Description

A cozy and comforting bread filled with spiced apples, drizzled with sweet icing, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, eggs, vanilla, and lemon juice.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Fold in the diced apples carefully.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Sprinkle a mixture of cinnamon and sugar over the batter.
  8. Cover with the rest of the batter, smoothing the top out.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
  11. For the icing, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth and drizzle over the bread before serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, paired with coffee or tea. Great for brunch or gatherings.
