- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter-sugar combination, stirring until the dough begins to come together.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut out cookies using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
- Place the cookies on a lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
