- 3 cups of milk
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- Fresh banana slices
- Vanilla wafers
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the milk, granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and vanilla. Slowly add a little of the hot mixture to the eggs to temper them, then return the mixture to the saucepan. Cook until it thickens, then remove from heat and let cool.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- In a trifle dish or a glass bowl, layer the pudding, fresh banana slices, and vanilla wafers. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used up, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 240 minutes (4 hours) before serving.
